(Courtesy the Patch)-MILFORD, MA—The popular dinner to thank veterans, military members, first responders and their families is back this year in Milford.
The 12th Annual Thanks To Yanks Tribute 9-11 Dinner is open for registration. The free dinner takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 6–8:15 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Milford and is only open to military members, veterans, first responders and families.
This non-political event is to simply say "Thank You" for the sacrifices they make to ensure our freedoms and safety while remembering the heroes and victims of 9/11/01, according to the announcement from Thanks To Yanks. The first tribute dinner hosted 120 guests and has continued to grow each year with more than 450 guests in 2017.
This special free tribute dinner recognizes all military members, veterans, first responders and their families, including Blue and Gold Star families. Registration is required for the event as seating will be limited and can be done at www.thankstoyanks.org.
The Dinner will also include:
- Flag Line with Patriot Guard Riders • Flag Tower
- Presentation of Colors • Missing Man Table Ceremony
- Blessing of our Heroes • Speakers
Thanks To Yanks president and founder Michael Shain said in a statement, "We are planning on having a Medal of Liberty ceremony to our tribute dinner this year. The medal is given to the family of a fallen hero and acknowledges the sacrifices, made for freedom."
