By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Residents of Mendon will have 30-articles to vote on at the Annual Town Meeting coming up on Friday night. Among the articles seeking sums of money to go for Fire Station repairs and improvements as well as money for a study of an expansion to the Mendon Senior Center and also the purchase of a new furnace for the facility. Mendon Residents will also vote to possibly change from elected officials to appointed officials, the town positions of Highway Surveyor and Town Clerk, with the appointing authority being the Board of Selectmen. The town will also ask voters to approve an amendment to the town's Zoning Bylaws, dealing with Marijuana establishments taking advantage of State law that allows municipalities to put a temporary moratorium on marijuana establishments that would expire at the end of the year. And the Land Use Committee has put together a five-year Land Use Program which will also be voted on at the Annual Town Meeting Friday night starting at seven o’clock at the Miscoe Hill School.
