Bellingham Police Warn Of IRS Scam
  

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Bellingham Police Department is the latest police department to receive a spike in complaints from residents who have been called by individuals claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The scammers are targeting taxpayers including recent immigrants using phone calls to say you owe the IRS money and you must pay immediately through a pre-loaded credit card or wire transfer to avoid being arrested or deported. These phone calls are scams simply hang up and notify police if you receive one of these calls. Bellingham Police remind residents, they will not come to arrest you for failure to pay the IRS following one of these phone calls.
