Dennis W. Phillips, 74, of Uxbridge passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Judith A. (LaPreste) Phillips.
Mr. Phillips owned and operated the D.W. Phillips Electric Co., Inc. in Hopedale and later in Uxbridge. A Master Electrician, he had also built several homes throughout the Blackstone Valley.
Dennis was born April 19, 1944 in Milford. He was the son of the late John and Stasia (Adamski) Phillips and had served in the Massachusetts National Guard.
He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Hopedale Country Club. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida. He had earned his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying his Cessna’s based out of Hopedale airport. He also loved watching and following all of the New England sports teams and always found it difficult to drive by a yard sale and not stop.
In addition to his wife Judith of 52 years, he is survived by his daughter, Dorene P. and her husband Greg Landry of Uxbridge, his son, Brian and his wife Coleen Phillips of Uxbridge, three brothers, Roger Phillips of CA, Scott Phillips of Bellingham, Jeff Phillips of Uxbridge, two grandchildren Victoria Landry and Paxton Phillips, both of Uxbridge and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Tues. June 26, 2018 from 4 - 7 PM at the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main St. (Rt. 122), Uxbridge.
