E. Jean (Heavner) Kamphenkel, 87, of Uxbridge, passed away Wed. August 29, 2018 in Lydia Taft House, Uxbridge. She was the wife of the late Frederick Kampfhenkel who died in 2014.
Mrs. Kamphenkel worked at Raytheon and Corning Medical for a number of years. She later owned and operated a Day Camp in Franklin and eventually owned a Teddy Bear Shop in Wrentham. She was also a long time employee of Sundeen Furniture in Northbridge.
She was born in 1931 in Buckhannon, West Virginia the daughter of the late Goff and Lacie (Mick) Heavner.
She loved being around children, liked horses and she loved to go to the casino.
Mrs. Kamphenkel is survived by two daughters Joyce A. (Parks) Gareri of Uxbridge and Karen (Parks) Connors of Blackstone; a brother Goff Heavner, Jr. of Holliston; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by two sons David Parks and John Parks, a brother, and 6 sisters.
Visiting hours will Tues. September 4, 2018 from 10 AM – 12 Noon in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge followed by a graveside service at 12:15 PM in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Mendon St., Rte. 16, Uxbridge.
