George P. Phillips, 71, of Milford passed away peacefully Tues. October 3, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at home. He was the husband of Patricia (Greene) Phillips.
He was born September 19, 1946 in Framingham the son of Mary (Curran) Phillips and the late Harold A. Phillips of Hopedale and was a 1965 graduate of the former St. Mary’s CC HS in Milford.
George enjoyed watching the horse races, and was a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and mother, George is survived by his daughters, Susan Phillips of Natick, Kimberly Phillips of Lincoln, Kristen Kay and her husband Jason of Bellingham, Shannon Duarte and her husband Antonio of Wethersfield, CT and Alyson Phillips of Boston; his siblings, William Phillips, Richard Phillips, Harold Phillips, Frances Elliott, Cora DuBois, Mary Laronga, Jane Parks, Marilyn Phillips and Margaret Sacco; loving grandfather of four grandchildren, Lauren Kay, Lynsey Kay, Antonio Duarte and Benjamin Duarte; great-granddaughter, Leanna Freitas and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Edward Phillips and a granddaughter Jennifer Regan.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 4-7 PM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale St., Hopedale. Burial to follow at Hopedale Village Cemetery.
