High Winds Wreck Havoc On MyFm Listening Area

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The winds have died down, however many across the state remain without power today. As a result of yesterday's high winds that toppled trees and knocked down power lines in almost every community. Wind gusts as high as 65 miles per hour did plenty of damage. As of this morning at 9am there were about 24 thousand customers without power according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, the hardest hit towns in the MY-FM listening area are Holliston with approximately 275-homes and Upton with 225 homes without electricity. Milford and Blackstone were the two towns in the area with no outages earlier this morning. In Milford there were plenty of wires down and all sorts of things blowing around and into the roads. A trampoline on Emmons Street, a box spring on Purchase Street, parts of a fence on West Spruce Street and a transformer that blew on Cedar Street. A transformer also blew on Washington Street near Summer Street in Holliston knocking out power and in Franklin there was a huge tree that was uprooted and fell on a vehicle on Dean Avenue, not far from the downtown area
