By MyFM's Jake Archer - The Holliston High School wrestling team held on to a much needed over Tri-Valley League rival Hopkinton on Wednesday night. The Panthers were up by six heading into the final match and needed to avoid a pin. Hopkinton’s Hunter Goodrow gave it his best shot but could only come up with a victory over Dave Harding via decision, which allowed Holliston to come away with the overall win.
The two squads were tied at 18 early and things would start to turn in the Panthers favor. After a no-contest at the 120-weight class, Holliston got pins at 126 and 132 from Brian Gary and Jay Fisher respectively. Seamus Frawley added on with an impressive 11-1 win at 138 but Hopkinton would respond. The next three bouts went to the Hillers by decision, which led to the dramatic ending.
Holliston finished the dual-meet regular season at 9-11 and 3-3 in the TVL while the Hillers end up at 7-18-1 and 2-4 in the league.
