Hopedale Selectmen last night reappointed Meg McElroy to the conservation commission setting aside recent arrest on drunk driving and drug charges. She was arrested in the spring on her third OUI charge. She is also accused of possession of two drugs, having an open container of alcohol in the car, and negligent operation. Last night chairman Sandra Biaghetti and Bob Burns cited McElroy's excellent performance on the Con-Com as reasons to give her another term. The vote to reappoint McElroy was unanimous. Before the vote was taken a resident objected the reappointment citing because of possible liability issues for the town.
