James J. Hackathorn, 80, of Northbridge passed away Feb. 23, 2018 at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Anna M. (Vierstra) Hackathorn.
James was employed in the Hi-Tech Electronics industry his entire working career and most recently had been the Director of Operations at Qualitronics in Chelmsford, before retiring in 1999.
He was born June 19, 1937 in Huntington Park, CA the son of the late Louis and Virginia (Ryan) Hackathorn. He was a graduate of George Washington High School and received an Associate’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Haven, CT in Business Management. He honorably served his country in the US Navy and US Air Force. James was a member of the Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church and served as a Deacon.
Mr. Hackathorn enjoyed reading, playing golf, and being with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter Jocelyn.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Anna, he is survived by three sons, Mark and his wife Lillian Hackathorn of Northbridge, Dale and his wife Elyzabeth also of Northbridge and Scott Hackathorn of Whitinsville; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visiting hours will be held Wed. Feb. 28, 2018 from 5 – 8 PM in the Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church, 25 Cross St., Whitinsville.
Funeral services will be held Thurs. March 1, 2018 at 11 AM in the church.
