By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A group of departing State Representatives bid farewell to their colleagues yesterday at the Statehouse, including the outgoing legislator who represented the 8th Worcester District over the last eight years. State Representative Kevin Kuros of Uxbridge was one of 13 representatives, who reflected on their time in the House and their service to the district and it’s constituents. Kuros ran unsuccessfully for Worcester Register of Deeds in November and grew very emotional yesterday as he reflected on making a difference in his constituent’s lives. During office hours in Uxbridge, he recalled a thin, disheveled man asking for assistance. His mother died eight years ago he became depressed and had become homeless during those years. Kuros says he and his staff helped the man and eventually got him into public housing. A year later he didn’t recognize him holding a sign for his re-election bid, he was healthy looking and smiling and he said it was that day that the value of what we do as legislators really hit him.
