By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Public input has already begun and will continue over the next month over the MBTA’s latest announcement of a proposal to raise the price of bus, subway and commuter rail rides, the last of which will affect those who use the commuter rail line at Franklin Forge Park. Commuters who travel to Boston for work and buy the monthly pass will need to dole out another $22/month, as the cost goes from $318/month to $340/month. The one-time round trip fare from Franklin to Boston will increase from $20-$21 50-cents more each way. The MBTA is projecting without the proposed fare increases, it’s structural deficit would nearly double not making it possible to fund the T’s Capital program, which provides money to improve service and reliability. One of the several fare proposal public meetings coming up next month will be held in Framingham at the Memorial Building on Wednesday night February 13th beginning at 6:30pm.
