By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Medway Police Department has been dealing with several inquiries recently regarding hunting or the discharging of firearms on various town properties. At this time Medway Police Chief Allen Tingley has no plans to allow any hunting on any town property. Residents are reminded it’s illegal to discharge a firearm within 500-feet of a dwelling or any building in use. The restriction also includes within the limits of any school, park, playground or other town property or private property. Chief Tingley says in some cases hunting or discharging of firearms is allowed with the consent of the owner of the land but when it comes to town property, the Chief of Police could give consent. But again at this time, there are no plans to allow any hunting on town property in Medway.
