By MyFM's Rick Michaels - In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month during this month of October, the Medway Police and Fire Departments will be wearing pink badges, to help raise awareness, about an illness that claims a life every 13 minutes. Breast Cancer has affected the lives of so many people according to national statistics someone is diagnosed with breast cancer, every three minutes. The pink badges Medway police officers and firefighters will be wearing were made by an Attleboro company V.H. Blackinton and Company, which is donating ten percent of the cost of each badge equally between two separate cancer charities, the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation a local charity helping those battling breast cancer and the Firefighter Cancer Support Network providing assistance nationwide to fire service members following a cancer diagnosis. Medway Police and Fire is asking if you’re able to support these two organizations.
