Medway Public Library April Youth Events

TODDLER JAM

Every Tuesday and Wednesday, 11:00 a.m.

Newborns – 3 year-olds are invited to this drop-in program of stories, fingerplay and songs accompanied by mountain dulcimer. 
Children must be accompanied by parent/caregiver.

IT’S STORY TIME!

Every Thursday and Friday, 11:00 a.m.

Ages 10 months-5 years.*   A drop-in story time with songs, stories, and craft. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver.  

* These ages are flexible! If you think your children will enjoy story time, please bring them.

NEW Program! Children’s Reading and Story Corner
Every Wednesday at 6:00 PM come and enjoy a children's book accompanied by a variety of fun and developmentally educational activities that relate to the book of the week. Activities will include an assortment of arts and crafts, physical education, math, science, and sensory explorations. Ages 3-7. No Registration.

PAWS to Read

Wednesday, April 4th, 6:00 to 7:15 PM

Interested in reading to a cuddly friend? Sign up by calling 508-533-3217 or come in and talk to our staff at the Circulation desk to register.

Each child will get a 15 minute one-on-one reading session with our wonderful visiting therapy dogs.  Children must be able to read independently as this is not a tutoring session but rather an opportunity to practice reading skills with a good listener. Grades 2-6.

Barn Babies

Tuesday, April 17th, 9:00 AND 9:30 AM

Barn Babies traveling baby animal petting zoo provides the perfect all hands on activity for your little learner. Barn Babies will bring a variety of animals including a diapered goat, a little potbellied pig, lots of baby bunnies, chicks or ducks, puppies and kittens. Explore your 5 Senses and meet some cuddly friends! Best for ages 3-7. PLEASE REGISTER FOR ONE SESSION. SPACE IS LIMITED.

This program is funded in part through the Walpole CFCE Program, through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care’s Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant and the Medway Public Library.

FREE Movie and Popcorn

Wednesday, April 18th, 11:30 AM

Join Auggie, his family, and his new classmates in this wonderful movie based on the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Rated PG. Runs about 2 hours. Registration suggested but walkins are welcome. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Medway Cultural Council.

Rube Goldberg Workshop

Thursday, April 19th, 2:00-3:30 PM

Build a Rube Goldberg machine with recycleables and other gadgets found around the library. We will watch a video, draw up our plans and then build and run the machine! Ages 7 and up. Register in advance.

Artful Thursdays

Thursday, April 26th, 4:00 PM

Join Miss Lucy and a local artist for a hands-on workshop about style and expression.. Fourth Thursday of the month. Ages 7 and up. Register in advance.

Paint and Sip for Teens

Monday, April 9th, 6:00-8:00 PM

Bring your favorite mug, library will provide cocoa and tea. Paint along with acrylics and go home with an original piece of art!

Ages 12 and up. Register in advance.
