By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Milford residents once again showed their support for their Police Chief filling the room last night at the beginning of the Board of Selectmen’s meeting. There were several items on the agenda to be discussed during executive session dealing with Milford Police Chief Tom O’Loughlin and the Board's decision not to renew his contract, doing so in executive session voting 2-1 to look for another Chief and not giving reasons for the decision. For weeks now there’s been talk of organizing a recall, a process aimed at removing elected officials. Will Kingkade and Bill Buckley voted against extending the Chief’s contract, Mike Walsh was the dissenting vote. In executive session last night Milford Selectmen were to discuss the chief’s contract negotiations, potential litigation and the possible release of executive session minutes, regarding those negotiations. The Board is also in the process of reviewing the town’s Police Chief selection by-law.
