McCarter, 1st Vice Commander, Post 208 The Ceremony begins promptly at 11 a.m. with a moment of silence This year on November 11th at 11 a.m. marks the 100th anniversary of what was known as the Armistice which brought an end to World War 1. Approximately 117,000 American Military personal died during WW1. It was then known as the war to end all wars. Armistice Day is now known as “Veterans Day” which is dedicated to the “living” who have served or are now serving in the United States Military. Participants will be the American Legion Post 208 (founded by veterans of WW1) AMVETS Post 495, Millis Board of Selectman, Millis Police Department, Millis Fire Department, Millis High School Band, Millis Boy and Girl Scout Troops.
