By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A Whitinsville man is due to be arraigned this morning in Uxbridge District Court, following his arrest on a charge of animal cruelty. He’s accused of burying alive, his former girlfriends’ dog that he was taking care of. 24-year old Richard Piquard was arrested on Sunday, after telling his former girlfriend he buried her dog in the woods behind his house claiming the dog had died. The woman found the dog buried, but still alive and breathing however, despite efforts to save the dog a Shih Tzu it had to be euthanized. Northbridge Police Chief Walter Warchol said Piquard was taking care of the dog, because his former girlfriend could not keep a dog in her new apartment and Piquard had a new cat, saying the dog and cat weren’t getting along. Piquard was released on one thousand dollar cash bail pending his arraignment this morning.
