By MyFM’s John Wilbur- The first week of August is quickly approaching, and that means it’s time for thousands to get on their bikes and make the 192 mi track from Sturbridge to Providencetown Massachusetts. It’s a two day 192 mile ride that raised a record 51 million dollars last year and over its 39 year run has helped saves millions of lives through the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and the Jimmy Fund. As of Last year the PMC has raised 598 million dollars for the fight against cancer!
The Ride will swing through Franklin again this year and with that comes hundreds of volunteers who will help provide water and rest. The best area to view the event is in the Remington Jefferson School complex, Saturday morning, Aug 4, the early riders usually start coming in about 7 AM and then the peak is usually between 8 and 10. It is quite an experience!
