By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Voters in the MyFM listening area headed to the polls yesterday with several races to decide. In the 8th Worcester District where Republican State Representative Kevin Kuros of Uxbridge, was not seeking re-election to represent Bellingham, Blackstone, Millbury and Uxbridge there were Democratic and Republican primary races. Patrick Malone of Uxbridge defeated Kevin Tagliaferri of Bellingham by a margin of 55-45% of the vote, to become the Democratic nominee. On the Republican side, Michael Soter of Bellingham defeated Ryan Chamberland of Blackstone, garnering 60% of the votes. Malone and Soter will face off in November, to replace Kuros who lost his bid for the Republican nomination, to become the Register of Deeds for Worcester County, losing by a 2-1 margin to Kate Campanale. There were also three Democrats looking to run against State Senator Richard Ross of Wrentham, who also represents Franklin precincts 1-4 Millis, Norfolk, Plainville and North Attleboro. Rebecca Rausch of Needham will face Ross in the general election, she defeated Jacqueline Katz of Norfolk and Kristopher Aleksov of Wayland.
