By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A retired Massachusetts state trooper from Uxbridge is pleading guilty in federal court to one count of embezzlement in connection with the ongoing State Police overtime scandal. In federal court yesterday 57-year old Daren Dejong of Uxbridge, pled guilty to charges he collected $14,000 after filing false overtime claims, according to prosecutors. Dejong previously agreed to change his plea to guilty, with prosecutors indicating they would support a six to 12-month prison sentence. The embezzlement charge carries a penalty of up to 10-years in prison and a $250,000 fine and if he was to be convicted, he could also lose his pension. Dejong retired last March when evidence surfaced about troopers clocking in for hours they never worked. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 1st.
