The toe-tappingest, foot-stompingest group ever to grace the Cole Room will be back at the Medway Public Library Sunday March 20, 3-5 PM.
Southern Rail's performances are high-energy exuberant fun, with riveting harmonies, irrepressible humor and sparkling banjo, mandolin, and guitar solo work. Southern Rail Bluegrass makes everyone feel good. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of great music and terrific company.
The Friends of the Medway Public Library are sponsoring this benefit concert to raise money for the Library. Southern Rail Bluegrass music always is a hit with all ages. The room layout allows the band and audience to interact, making this a very good venue for live music.
Easy access and a big indoor lobby make this a perfect "trial concert" for children who might not be able to sit through a concert in a more formal setting, since parents can take them out to the lobby where they can dance to the music.
Audience members have the opportunity to mingle with band members at intermission and after the show. For new fans and old, Southern Rail CDs and a DVD of one of their concerts will be on sale at intermission.
Southern Rail's recordings, featuring their prolific songwriting, have climbed to #11 on Bluegrass Unlimited's Top Thirty Single's Chart, and have hit #1 on a number of radio stations across the nation.
Buy tickets at the Library beginning March 1. Southern Rail concerts often sell out, so advance purchasing is recommended. Tickets are $10 adult, $5 student, under 12 free.
Refreshments will be available at intermission for a small donation.
