By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Cannabis Control Commission licensed the 100th cannabis business in Massachusetts yesterday and voted to move three retail stores closer to being allowed to open their doors. Among the nine final licenses approved yesterday by the CCC, were approvals to sell recreational marijuana to adults in Greenfield, Lowell, and Gardner. So far, nine retail marijuana stores have opened and the CCC expects four to eight more stores will open each month, apparently beginning next month with no stores being given the final green light to commence operations yesterday. The commission yesterday also issued provisional licenses to CommCan Incorporated of Medway, for two licenses for product manufacturer and for cultivation of recreational marijuana. The CCC has also cleared 1,600 people to work in marijuana establishments and before voting on the nine final licenses, the commission met in a closed session for about 45 minutes to discuss the security plans for the retailers, an additional measure of scrutiny the CCC is now implementing.
