By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Franklin Planning Board has several public hearings scheduled as part of the Board's meeting tonight, one of them involves a proposal that could bring a distillery to the site of a restaurant, that just recently closed it's doors. The sudden closing of the Incontro Restaurant on West Central Street, has coincided with the request by Brookdale Mill Realty of Franklin, for a special permit and site plan modification, to allow for a distillery with tasting room, in addition to the existing restaurant. Another public hearing going before the Planning Board tonight is for a special permit and site plan, submitted
by Simi Solar of Franklin, to develop a solar energy facility on two parcels of land on Summer Street for the installation of a large scale ground mounted solar energy system. Franklin already has two-solar arrays in operation, one on Union Street and the other on land next to Tri-County Regional Vocational
High School and behind the Franklin Crossings Apartment Complex and several other solar projects are seeking to set up in Franklin.
