By MyFM's Rick Michaels - This year’s recipient of the Butch Moore “You Touched Upon My Life Award” will be presented to a Mendon resident tonight, who has been a beacon for good will throughout the MyFM 101.3 listening area, dedicating so much of her time, energy and resources volunteering. The award is in honor of Butch Moore, the name of the award was his signature song, about a man that touched so many lives as Butch did with his music, big heart and generosity. Butch was a local singing legend along with his wife Maeve they toured the country, Ireland and Europe until Butch passed away in 2001, after which the award was created. The 2019 recipient is Julie Atherton of Mendon who for the past six years has led a fundraiser for Autism, raising over $100,000 for the Autism Resource Center, she’s been involved with the Whole Child Organization in Upton, which provides funds for special needs programs and the My One Wish Golf Tournament, to help secure funds to fulfill wishes of local kids in need. The official presentation will take place at tonight’s “MY-FM 101.3/Milford Area Chamber of Commerce/St. Patrick’s Day, Business After Hours event, which will take place at the Southside Bar and Grill in Milford. The former Scioli’s where Julie Atherton of Mendon will be given the 2019 Butch Moore “You Touched Upon My Life Award”. There will also be LIVE Irish Music and food plus door prizes, call the Milford Area Chamber of Commerce for more information and tickets.
