By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Across the state, 19-companies, including one from Milford, have been selected to compete for the 2017 Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards. These companies, many from the medical industry, have collectively created more than 15-hundred jobs and invested more than 500-million dollars in their businesses over the last 18-months. The companies will compete in regional categories and in Central Massachusetts Nitto Denko Avecia of Milford was named as a finalist. A pharmaceutical drug company, recently announcing it would be expanding its Milford operation after having added 120-jobs over the last year or so, they’re looking to become the world’s largest manufacturing site for a drug ingredient that’s proving quite effective in fighting and treating diseases, including cancer. Another company competing in the Southeast Massachusetts area is a new Franklin business, Cold Chain Technologies, a leading developer and manufacturer of controlled temperature distribution solutions for pharmaceutical, bio-tech, health care and medical device industries.
