BY MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Upton Board of Selectmen will execute the Annual Town Meeting Warrant tonight, which includes an article to purchase new voting machines and on the agenda tonight, the Board will also discuss the proposed mission statement and scope of work for the Electronic Voting Committee. This Committee is to investigate the mechanics and merits of using electronic voting for Town Meetings with the committee members to prepare a written report on the benefits and cost of electronic voting at Town Meetings. Meanwhile, Upton residents will decide at Town Meeting in May on an article proposed to appropriate money to purchase, two election tabulators at a cost of about 16 thousand dollars. The current election tabulators are 16-years old and the vendor can no longer supply replacement parts for those machines. The Upton Town meeting contains 38 articles to be decided on Thursday night May 2.
