WCVB-TV’s long-time sports anchor Mike Lynch, the late and beloved Channel 7 videographer Therman Toon, the late WBZ-TV reporter, the gifted storyteller Bill Shields, as well as WBZ Radio’s heralded news reporter and “poet laureate” Carl Stevens, and Spanish music radio station entrepreneur Pat Costa will be inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame on Thursday, June 8, along with Lesley University Communications Professor and former rock and roll DJ Donna L. HOPKINTON - You have a chance to watch an internationally known figure skater from Hopkinton perform nearby next month. Ice dancer T.J. Carey and long time skating partner Caroline Depietri who have been competing and touring worldwide for many years, will be in the Skating Club of Boston’s show Ice Chips April 7 and 8 at the Albright Performance Center in Norwood. REGION - Some electric bills will be going down for summer. The Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities has approved a 40% rate reduction for National Grid electric customers starting after May 1. Basic service rates typically change each year on May 1 and November 1 as summer and winter demands change for natural gas which is what fuels most electricity to homes. In a statement National Grid said the supply price will drop from 34 cents per kilowatt hour to 14 cents per kilowatt hour. Read More.
