REGIONAL - The Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation is set to host its 34th Annual Golf Classic in August in support of the highest priority needs of Milford Regional Medical Center. HOPKINTON - In response to public questions, Hopkinton’s Town Manager has posted documents about the Town’s review of, and interactions with, Eversource about their Liquefied Natural Gas Facility. Acknowledging some citizens expressed concerns following last month’s required test of the emergency response plan, Norman Kuhmalo also points out in a statement released Friday the Town has an independent LNG safety consultant and Town staff and the Fire Chief are regularly involved in emergency response planning. FRANKLIN - Cuts could still be coming to the Franklin School District despite a budget bump from the Town Council. Last week the Council approved the overall Town budget of $150 million which includes adding more police and firefighters. The Franklin school budget was increased by $700K over its initial $1.1 million dollars but Franklin Matters reports the District still faces a shortfall. 24 school personnel positions were reportedly cut last week to meet the shortfall but some may now be restored due to the additional money. GRAFTON - A Grafton business has gotten a loan from the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp to help build out their new space on the Grafton Common. The NCMDC says Scarlet Spa and Wellness Center has been approved for $32,000 for new spa equipment and supplies. They say owner Jennifer Lachapelle was helped by the Small Business Development Center at Clark University in Worcester to put together her business plan. The NCMDC is a U.S. Small Business Administration microloan lender. Read More.
