By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Notices of the 2020 Federal Census will be sent to all households in March of next year it’s a headcount of everyone living in the United States it’s done every ten-years. Milford Town Clerk Amy Neves says it’s important to answer the Census because this information is used to distribute federal funding to cities and towns across the country. Neves says Census data determines funding to Medicare and Medicaid, MassHealth, the Children’s Health Insurance Program and several Health Center programs. Back in August and through mid October about 30 percent of all Milford addresses were visited, in areas where there has been significant change over the past ten years verifying certain addresses and identifying separate living quarters. An accurate list ensures the Census for 2020, is counting residents in the correct location. The questionnaire itself that you’ll receive in March of 2020 will not ask for your social security number, bank account or credit card numbers and the personal information you fill in, as you answer the Census is protected by law and is never released to any other local, state or federal agency.
