By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A joint investigation by the Milford Police Department Detective Unit, the Massachusetts State Police and the Drug Enforcement Agency’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force led to the arrest of a Rhode Island man. 30-year old Anibal Berrios of Woonsocket is being charged with destruction/tampering of evidence after he consumed about six bags of heroin/fentanyl as authorities closed in on him as he sat in his vehicle. Authorities say on Monday they received information that Berrios was delivering suspected heroin/fentanyl, in the Southern Worcester County area. After making contact with him he agreed to deliver six-bags of the drug suggesting a location in Blackstone to meet for the exchange. Undercover officers met with Berrios but before he could be removed from his vehicle he consumed all the drugs he was then placed in custody and transported after he was medically evaluated and he refused treatment. Milford Police detectives say there was also about thirtyone hundred dollars seized from Berrios at the time of his arrest.
