By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Town of Bellingham held a candidate's forum yesterday morning with residents getting the chance to hear from several candidates and also there was also discussion about the town’s first ever proposed
Proposition 2 ½ override for the operating budget of the public schools. The only contested race in next month's Annual Town Election, is for two seats on the Board of Selectmen Robert Biagi and Donald Martinis are seeking re-election Kelly Hogan Grant is challenging for a seat. A statement was read for Biagi, while Martinis and Grant attended the forum to read their statements. The Chairman of the Bellingham School Committee Mike Reed spoke in favor of the Proposition 2 ½ override, to assess an additional $1.5 million for the school budget telling residents the need is there
Reed says the override is more important now with COVID-19 reductions in staff leads to larger class sizes and less support both academically and emotionally. No one spoke against the override at yesterday's Forum
