By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Black ice may have been the cause early this morning of a fatal accident on Route 495 Northbound, prior to Exit 21 west Main Street in Hopkinton. The single vehicle rollover accident occurred around 5:35 this morning, as temperatures dropped from the mid-30’s overnight, to right around the freezing mark as the morning commute got underway. Rescue vehicles reported black ice as they approached scene eventually discovering a vehicle on it's roof and in some water. The driver died after being taken to the Milford Regional Medical Center. Traffic was backed up into Milford, with two lanes blocked for most of the commute. Finally clearing the scene some three-hours later. There were also reports of several vehicles skidding off that section of Route 495 and a minor accident was reported as vehicles were attempting to slow down approaching the crash scene.
