Boy Scouts And Girl Scouts Of America Scouting For Food Drive

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - On the morning of November 2nd, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Bellingham will be participating in the annual Boy Scouts of America Scouting for Food Drive to benefit the Bellingham Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. We will be at Walmart, Market Basket and South Bellingham Stop and Shop for our "fill-the-trailer" event. At this event, our scouts will be collecting food donations from shoppers to fill their scout trailer to be delivered to the food pantry. Scouts will also be located at Saint Blaise Church in Bellingham for food drop off. If anyone would like us to pick up food from their home, they can the food pantry and we will pick up for them. This is a great way to help stock the food pantry. Scouting for Food is an ongoing annual program of the Boy Scouts of America, begun in 1985 by the Greater Saint Louis Area Council. The program involves collecting for local food banks. It is organized at the local level throughout the country. Scouting for Food is a project rooted in the very foundation of the Scouting movement and its dedication to implement the Scout Slogan and “do a good turn daily.”
