By MyFM's Rick Michaels - It was a month ago when the Cannabis Control Commission awarded two final licenses for retail Adult Use Marijuana shops, one of them was for a proposed store in Uxbridge and yesterday the CCC gave the business the word to commence operations. Caroline’s Cannabis will be operating at 640 Douglas Street in Uxbridge and would be able to open as early as Monday. However, owner Caroline Frankel says she’ll open for business a week from today, becoming the eleventh licensed retail pot shop in Massachusetts and as a woman owned and operated business. Frankel plans to assemble a diverse workforce, establishing a hiring preference for employees and contractors that reside in Worcester County. Caroline’s Cannabis is expected to be open for business next Friday morning and will eventually be open seven-days a week from 10am-10pm. Under the host community agreement signed with the town of Uxbridge, the town will receive a three-percent local sales tax.
