Animal Crackers is a revival of the Marx Brothers musical comedy hit of 1930, later made into a movie of the same name.

Society matron Mrs. Rittenhouse is planning the social event of the year at her mansion. She is having a famous painting displayed in her home for the weekend, and she is also having the world famous explorer Captain Spaulding (Groucho) as a house guest.

However all goes awry when her societal rivals, Mrs. Whitehead and her sister, Grace, come up with a plan to publicly embarrass Mrs. Rittenhouse by stealing the painting.

Matter go from bad to worse, as the dubious musicians for the party arrive, a Mr. Ravelli (Chico) and “The Professor,” (Harpo). With Captain Spaulding, Ravelli and the Professor in the house, chaos ensues when the painting is stolen by an unknown person and the police are called in.

The Marx Brothers brand of humor include wordplay, puns, outrageous physical comedy and all around wackiness, and is suitable for all ages.
