Located on the Mendon/Blackstone town line at 286 Mendon Street, Blackstone, MA, the Daniels Farmstead will open the season with a “Birds & Blooms” theme on Sunday, May 19, 2019. At 11:00am, naturalist Kathy Barton will lead a wildlife walk through the trails at Daniels. At 1:00pm, Landscaper and Naturalist, John Root with present a 90-minute presentation titled “Edible Perennial Gardening and Landscaping” in the 1850 barn.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Blackstone Cultural Council, supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Spring plants, annuals & perennials will be available for sale. Vendors are welcome to this event. Kindly visit the farmstead’s website at danielsfarmstead.org for vendor form.
This year’s Farmers Markets will begin on July 7. The Farmers Market will continue every Sunday, 11:00am-3:00pm, through September 29th. Many special events are planned as well as the tours of this historic property. The grill will be open from 11:30am to 2:30pm for lunch, and musical entertainment will be provided during Farmers Markets from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
A Revolutionary War Reenactment will also take place at Daniels, in partnership with Blackstone Valley Technical School, on October 5th and 6th.
Planning for the organic garden is underway and many vendors are confirming for this season.
