Baseball player Charles Leo “Gabby” Hartnett, born in Woonsocket, moved to Millville at the age of 3 days old. Gabby played at the meadow near the mills and railroad tracks which closed about 1985. He later played for the Chicago Cubs and was the catcher when Babe Ruth made “The Call”.
Millville is celebrating their centennial next May!
