Michael Boynton has been the Town Manager of Medway since 2014 and could arguably be the hardest working and most-committed-to-his-community public servant in the Commonwealth. Michael’s career began nearly 30 years ago. During the span of nearly 30 years Michael has played many roles while bettering the towns of Franklin, Mendon, Walpole and Norfolk County in various capacities.
Between managing town employees, residents’ concerns and needs and municipal issues, Michael also manages a physical challenge that requires the use of a cane on a daily basis. At the young age of 12 Michael found himself motionless in a hospital bed after being diagnosed with acute transverse myelitis. His story of recovery is inspirational, his dedication to community is unparalleled. The International City Managers’ Association sat down with Michael recently where he opened up about his daily challenges, disability awareness in the workplace and the future of that effort.
We here at MyFM are so proud of local leaders like Michael.
