By MyFm's Rick Michaels - Following an investigation by Upton Police a Millbury contractor was arrested and is facing multiple charges of larceny, after being hired by several residents of Upton. 53-year old Norman Buteau of Millbury is charged with numerous counts of larceny over $1200 by single scheme and residential contracting agreement violations. Upton Police Detective Michael Benjamin discovered Buteau was hired by a number of residents to conduct various home improvement and remodeling projects, between October of 2018 and May of 2019. Detective Benjamin says he allegedly collected between 66% and 100% of the total cost, prior to beginning work or ordering supplies for a total of just over $63,000 that was stolen from Upton residents. Buteau was arraigned in Milford District Court following his arrest about two weeks ago he’ll return to the Milford Court later this month for a pre trial conference.
