By MyFM's Rick Michaels - At the end of the Franklin Town Council meeting this week, Town Administrator Jamie Hellen provided a brief COVID-19 update for the town, including the announcement of a regional plan involving four other towns, as vaccinations begin next week for all first responders. Hellen says Franklin High School will become the regional vaccination clinic site for first responders from Franklin, Milford, Medway, Millis and Bellingham to get their first doses beginning next Wednesday. Hellen telling councilors Franklin had 91 active cases of COVID before last night’s weekly data was released, which continues to show the town in the “RED”, the highest risk category. The Franklin Town Council also this week voting unanimously to adopt the 2020 update to the town’s Hazard Mitigation Plan, something the town must do every five-years. Hellen says the big issue for Franklin is flood zones with one concern being the Charles River, which runs through the town, as well as preparing for other dangers related to natural disasters.
