Governor Charlie Baker Signs 32-bills In His First Week Of His Second Term

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Governor Charlie Baker signed 32-bills this week, that the Legislature sent to his desk prior to the end of the 2017-2018 session and one of those bills provided for recall elections in the town of Uxbridge. The petition was originally brought before residents at a Town Meeting, in October of 2016 after town officials gave the okay, for two-projects that brought soil from construction sites into the town of Uxbridge. Voters approved the pursuit of what turned out to be a long recall process which required the town to get the wording right to allow for the recall of elected officials. Governor Baker on Wednesday signed into law an amendment to the town’s charter, that will allow Uxbridge residents to recall elected officials.
