Governor Seeks Money For Road Repairs

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - There isn’t a city or town in the State that couldn’t  benefit from upgrades to it’s roads and bridges and Governor Charlie Baker says he’s filing a bill to help municipalities pay for the cost of some of those repairs.  Governor Baker says he’ll seek 200-million dollars for local transportation projects across the Commonwealth with the hope of having the money in place by April to help communities pay for the projects and get them underway at the start of the construction season.  The bill would also include 30-million dollars for accessible vehicles to provide transportation to seniors and individuals with disabilities.  Part of that money would also go to the Registry of Motor Vehicles, 70-million dollars, to upgrade it’s core information technology system.
