By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Milford Police, Fire and Rescue, along with State Police, responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on Route 495 early yesterday morning. The accident was the result of a wrong way driver and caused serious injuries. The two drivers were men, one being from Northboro, the other from Providence Rhode Island, with one of them traveling the wrong way on Route 495 Northbound and crashing head-on into the other vehicle near Exit 19/Route 109-Medway Road. The accident was reported at 3:20 yesterday morning, with both drivers suffering injuries with one taken by Medflight and the other transported by ambulance to the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. The crash blocked two-lanes of traffic and the Northbound ramp to Route 495 at Exit 19 was closed for a time with Milford Fire and rescue clearing the scene at 4:45 yesterday morning.
