Homefield Credit Union is proud to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity® MetroWest/Greater Worcester to build a playhouse for the children of a veteran under Operation Playhouse. Operation Playhouse is a unique program designed to benefit any qualifying veteran or military family in New England, with children or grandchildren ages 2 – 12 years old.
Each playhouse is sponsored by a company or group as a way to give back to veterans and military families. An Operation Playhouse manager works with the family to determine a theme for the playhouse based on the interest of the child/children. Habitat for Humanity® will provide the materials necessary to complete the build, funded by Homefield Credit Union.
On Saturday, May 4thHomefield Credit Union volunteers will build a patriotic themed playhouse, based on the request of its assigned military family. The build will take place at Homefield Credit Union’s Main Office located at 86 Worcester Street in North Grafton. The Credit Union’s volunteers will construct and decorate the playhouse within certain restrictions.
The family of a disabled veteran, who served in Operation Enduring Freedom, will be presented with the playhouse. At approximately 3:30 pm, adedication ceremony will be held at Homefield Credit Union, after which the playhouse will be loaded on to a truck and delivered to the veteran family’s home.
