Milford Special Olympics was started in the spring of 1994 with Avery Dennison as our sponsor with one coach, one track team, and four athletes. Today, Milford Community Programs is our sponsor and we have 27 coaches, 20 teams, with 12 different sports, and 190 athletes.
This journey would not have sustained without the collaboration of Milford Community Programs, Friends of Milford Area Special Athletes, Milford Public Schools, our coaches, athletes, and families. It is because of all these agencies and volunteers that we have sustained and grown into one of the best programs in the state.
Milford Special Olympics is so much more than an athletic team. We have become a support system for our athletes and families as well. The camaraderie is excellent among the athletes!

WMRC-First Class Radio & Asphalt Engineering of Bellingham has teamed up on a fantastic new project to improve our community. We will air a series of over 180 monthly commercials that feature a community organization that is making a difference in the Greater Milford Region.
The “Hometown Hope” initiative will serve to inform the public on projects your organization is undertaking, and can also be used to recruit new members and highlight fund raising opportunities. In short what would 180 commercials on the radio, and a comprehensive multi-media campaign do in helping you, help our community? We think a lot!
The actual value of a month on the Community Spotlight is $3,000.
If your organization is interested in being featured then we ask that you fill out the attached request. Our selection team will review these requests, and we will announce our first recipients the week of June 15, 2015.
