Throughout our local area, thousands of children, adults and seniors go without each year. The holidays are especially hard for those who can’t provide adequate meals from themselves or their families. This month’s recipient of the MyFM and Asphalt Engineering Hometown Hope Initiative is all of our amazing local food pantries that make sure no one goes hungry in our community.
The Franklin Food Pantry alone distributed 22,526 bags of groceries throughout their community that fed 294 children, 140 seniors and 1,016 individuals.
On any given Wednesday, the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry serves 55 to 95 homes in Bellingham.
The Daily Bread Food Pantry has aided well over 6000 local families in Milford since it started in 1991 with the help of generous volunteers and donations of food and money from local groups, churches, businesses and individuals.
