Hopedale Board Of Selectmen Talk Budgets

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Hopedale Board of Selectmen took some time to discuss the Fiscal Year 2021 budget at its’ meeting on Monday night. The Board reviewed some of the narratives from the Finance Committee, relating to how to stay away from asking residents to approve an override, including a two-percent bottom line budget cut to all departments. The new Town Administrator Diana Schindler telling Selectmen that she asked the Finance Committee members at its’ meeting last week, how did the town get to this point Schindler says that a stabilization fund right now could have millions of dollars in it with everything going on around us this is the worst time to ask taxpayers to approve an override or lose services she says the town is up against a brick wall with voters possibly having to make some tough choices.
