By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Superintendent of Schools in Hopkinton releasing a statement, regarding a lawsuit being filed by a former member of the Boy’s Ice Hockey team and his parents claiming he was bullied and when this brought to the attention of the hockey coach and Athletic Director nothing was done. Hopkinton School Superintendent Dr. Carol Cavanaugh, in a media release yesterday saying school officials investigated an allegation during last year’s hockey season that a group of student athletes engaged in conduct that violated the district’s bullying policy with some being removed from the team, as law enforcement became involved. The lawsuit names the Varsity Boys Hockey Coach Christopher Mac Pherson as failing to take actions to stop the bullying of the 15 year old freshman. According to the lawsuit a group of players questioned his masculinity and sexual orientation while taking pictures and videos of him in the locker room and posting some of those photos. The boy’s parents say they approached Coach MacPherson and the Athletic Director about the harassment they agreed to “keep an eye” on the situation but the lawsuit claims they failed to take any reasonable steps and the bullying continued in the locker room and on bus rides to and from games by a group of eight players.
