By MyFM"s Rick Michaels - The Hopkinton School Committee will meet tonight with one of the first items on the agenda, is a technology budget update to support the additional classrooms and students at three schools in town. The Director of Technology has informed the Superintendent of Schools that the Fiscal Year 2021 Technology Budget, will need an additional $119,000 or $40,000 a year, for a three year lease of equipment needed, for six new classrooms at Hopkinton High School four new modular classrooms at Hopkins Elementary School and two new modular classrooms at Elmwood Elementary School. Meanwhile the Director of Student Services has informed the district there’s a need to hire two
additional special education para professionals at a cost of $66,000 a year to service one student at Hopkins and one student at Elmwood. Hopkinton School Committee members tonight will also review a Fiscal Year 2021 overall Budget recommendation from the Superintendent of Schools Doctor Carol Cavanaugh and approve proposed school calendars for the next two years.
