By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Following the resignation of Franklin Town Clerk Teresa Burr last week, a Temporary Town Clerk was appointed and has been working this week to get the town ready for early voting which begins in about three-weeks for the general election in November. Franklin Town Administrator Jamie Hellen made the appointment of the Deputy Town Clerk Nancy Danello to the position of Temporary Town Clerk replacing Burr, who resigned after misplacing/forgetting about 3,000 early voting ballots that had to be counted days after the recent state primary. Hellen is confident the appropriate measures will be taken to ensure there will not be a repeat of that event. He and Franklin Town Council Chairman Tom Mercer believe the town needs someone who is familiar with Franklin’s local election workings. Danello has already made some adjustments and investments in staff recruitment and equipment in order to be fully prepared. She will fill the position until the next town election to be held in November of 2021.
